A Child Friendly Environment
Ashley’s Place provides a welcoming environment for bother children and adults. The Center is specifically designed to provide comfort to children and families throughout the investigative and treatment process with.
Forensic Interviews
​
Alleged child victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse and/or witness to violence are interviewed by a professional trained to elicit information from the child in a non-threatening, non-leading non-suggestive manner. The interview is observed by law enforcement and the Department of Children’s services worker to reduce he number of different individuals the child has to talk with about the abuse details.
Victim Advocacy

The Victim Advocate works with families throughout the investigative process by providing support, information, referrals, court preparation and accompaniment and Victim’s compensation assistance. The victim advocacy services are tailored to meet the specific needs of each family.
Therapy services
​
Ashley’s Place provides Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to child victims to assist with the beginning of the healing process. Therapy services are provided in-house on a weekly basis by a licensed therapist certified in TF-CBT.
Child Protective Investigative Team Case Review
​
The CPIT teams meets regularly to discuss the progress, needs, outcomes and status of active child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse cases.
Community Education and Prevention
​
Ashley’s Place provides community education focused on prevention and early intervention of child abuse. The Center strives to educate the community about abuse, available services and mandated reporting. Ashley’s Place staff are available for presentation to community organizations and groups.
Team Training
​
On-going training opportunities are made available to CPIT team members to ensure competent and up-to-date investigative skills.
